Wheelchair Basketball Forest Park was lucky enough to be visited by the national champion UW-Whitewater wheelchair basketball team. They discussed the team concept with students, then organized a game.
Students played against the team for the first three quarters, while the teachers finished off the game. Students and staff received 4 points for a basket, while the UW-Whitewater team received only one. With a 24-21 lead heading into the final quarter, the teachers merely needed to stall. Unfortunately, they did not score one basket, gave up 6, and consequently lost the game 27-24. Participating 8th grade teachers: Mr. Sievert, Mr. Bauer, Mrs. Thoen, Mrs. Chart, Mr. Vogt
